Cookie Policy
This policy explains how www.thesustainity.com uses cookies and similar technologies. Our site is built on Squarespace, and the cookies below are the ones a Squarespace site places by default.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work, keep it secure, remember preferences, and measure how the site is used. Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, work in comparable ways. We group cookies as strictly necessary (required for the site to work) and analytics (optional, used to understand and improve the site).
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for core functions such as security and basic navigation. The site cannot work properly without them, so they are always on.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
crumb | Prevents cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and helps secure forms. | Session |
RecentRedirect | Prevents redirect loops when pages redirect. | 30 minutes |
Test | Checks whether your browser supports cookies. | Session |
3. Analytics & performance cookies
These help us understand how visitors find and use the site, so we can improve it. They are set by Squarespace Analytics.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ss_cid | Identifies a unique visitor. | 2 years |
ss_cvr | Records a unique visitor and how they use the site. | 2 years |
ss_cvt | Helps measure a visit, working with ss_cvr. | 30 minutes |
ss_cpvisit | Records that a visitor has been to the site before. | 2 years |
If we add e-commerce or other features later, additional cookies (for example, a shopping cart) may be set, and we will update this policy.
4. Third-party services
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. This does not place a cookie on your device, but your IP address is shared with Google to deliver the fonts, under Google's privacy terms.
We link out to Google Forms (for the Founding POC application) and to LinkedIn. We do not set cookies on their behalf. If you follow those links, those services set their own cookies under their own policies.
5. Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can set most browsers to refuse them. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site may stop working. To learn how, see your browser's help pages.
6. Consent
Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically because the site needs them. Where required by law (for example, for visitors in the EEA or UK), non-essential analytics cookies are set only with your consent, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time through the cookie controls on the site or your browser settings.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version.
